Frequently Asked Questions

Do you edit all kinds of romance?

Yep. I work with all romance subgenres and heat levels—from sweet and swoony to filthy and feral. The only hard no? Religion-centred romance (aka Christian Romance). If the story revolves around faith as the main theme, I’m not the right fit (due to personal triggers). But if you’re writing taboo, trauma-informed, or spicy religious themes—yes, please.

Do you edit LGBTQIA+ romance?

Absolutely. I’m here for all of it. The only requirement? That the romance is central and emotionally resonant while representing the community with care.

Can I book a sample edit?

Yes! But don't just send me the first chapter, send me the chapter or scene/passage you're completely in love with. Why? Because you are emotionally invested in not just the book, but that particular scene. If it's a smut scene, totally fine. If it's a scene that's intended to rip your reader's heart out? Even better.
It's free. I don't charge for sample edits, because you need to see whether or not we are a good fit for each other.

How do I book you?

Head to the Contact page, click on the Intake Form and fill it out. Tell me a bit about your book, your word count, and what kind of support you’re looking for. I’ll follow up with a quote, timeline, and a spot on my schedule. If we vibe? You’ll get a contract and invoice to lock it in.

What kinds of romance books do you edit?

If the romance is the plot, I’m in. If the romance is a subplot? That’s a no from me.

I work exclusively on stories where the central arc is the emotional and romantic relationship between characters—everything else (magic systems, monsters, murder plots, dystopian wastelands) is a bonus.

Here’s what I love to edit:

  • Contemporary Romance

  • Romantasy (Fantasy Romance)

  • Paranormal Romance

  • Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic Romance

  • Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk Romance

  • Monster Romance

  • Romantic Suspense

  • LGBTQIA+ Romance (all pairings welcome)

  • Erotic Romance

  • Dark Romance

  • Romcoms

  • Morally Grey Romance

  • Taboo (content dependent and at editors discretion, because there is a difference between Taboo & Illegal. Will not touch any books with spice scenes between MC's under the age of 18)

Don’t see your exact flavour on the list? If romance is the emotional core of the story, we’re probably a match. Still unsure? Just ask.

What if I don’t know what kind of edit I need?

That’s totally normal. Send me your word count and what stage you’re in, and I’ll help you figure out what your manuscript actually needs (and what it doesn’t). No upselling. No fluff.

What formats do you accept?

I work in both Google Docs and Microsoft Word, depending on your workflow. In most cases, we’ll be working on a shared live document, so you’ll be able to see my comments and edits as I make them.

  • In Word, I use Track Changes and inline comments—usually on a file shared via email or cloud (OneDrive).

  • In Google Docs, I’ll work in Suggesting mode, and you’ll need to grant me editing access.

Since these are shared docs, we’re working collaboratively—but once I’ve delivered your final editorial report, I ask that you remove my access from the document. That protects your project’s privacy and helps me stay organised for other client work.

How do payments work?

Once we agree on your service and start date, I’ll send you a contract and invoice via Xero.

  • For quick-turn services (like spicy scene edits, hook critiques, or sensitivity reads), full payment is due up front before I begin.

  • For bigger services (like developmental or line edits), I take a $50 booking deposit to secure your spot. That deposit comes off your total.

  • From there, we can set up a payment plan that works for you—because editing should feel doable, not impossible.
